Eleanor Ronning Clough

Friday, March 19th, 2004

Our Grandma, Eleanor Ronning Clough, 89, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2004 in Yakima, Washington. Grandma was born December 5, 1914 in Clear Lake, WA, to Elizabeth and Paul Ronning. Eleanor was raised in Clear Lake and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School. She married ‘Poppa’, Conrad Wesley Clough on April 16, 1937 in the living room of the Ronning home on Buchanan Hill in Clear Lake.
During their life together they lived in many places, including Hood Canal, WA, Alaska and Guam. She was finally able to return to her home in Clear Lake when they retired in the 1970’s.
Among her fondest memories were the years at Hood Canal and the time spent on Guam. She especially appreciated the birthday parties and holidays when all the family was together. Grandma loved music, baking and making her home a warm place for friends and family.
Mrs. Clough is survived by her two sons, Russell Clough and his wife Shirley, and Albert Clough. Her grandchildren, Connie and Jun Naotsuka, Sheri and Shon McIntyre, Mike Clough, and Wesley and Alexis Clough; her great-grandchildren, Heather, Meggie, Kalynn, Claire, Carolyn, Seiji, Takaji, and Samuel and by her sister, Margret Eidsness. Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Her husband Conrad, her daughter Margie Clough, and brother Albert Ronning preceded her in death.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 2:00 PM at Clear Lake Community Covenant Church. Local arrangements under direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. Share memories of Eleanor and sign the online guest register at www.lemleychapel.com
