EVA ELIZABETH WALDEN, 71, a longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2005 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon. Eva was born on July 17, 1933 in Hamilton, WA the daughter of William Allen and Olive Franks Brown.
She was raised and attended schools in Hamilton and Sedro-Woolley. She was united in marriage to Gilbert Walden on November 17, 1949 in Burlington, WA and have made their home in Alger ever since. Eva enjoyed fishing, painting, ceramics, doing crossword puzzles, her flowers and yard. Eva was known as the neighborhood mother and took in all the stray kids.
She is survived by her husband Gilbert, of 55 years at the family home, 4 sons; Britt Walden and his wife, Betty, Bradley Walden and his wife, Angela, Ronnie Walden and his wife, Lana, all of Alger, and Christopher Walden of Burlington. 9 grandchildren; Shannon, Heather, Shane, Jennifer, Travis, Jeffery, Cory, Ronnie-Joe and Jodi. 4 great-grandchildren, a sister Ruth Huff of Silva, N.C. and also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Gilbert Laine and Baby Walden, 2 brothers, Charlie and Robert ‘Duke’ Brown, and 4 sisters, Nada Allen, Merle Krengel, Mary Chandler and Norma Day.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Bow Cemetery with Pastor Wendy Tingley of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Sedro-Woolley officiating. A potluck gathering will follow the service at the Alger Community Hall. You may call Britt Walden or Gilbert Walden for potluck information.
Memorials are suggested to the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital.
