Evelyn L. Armey, 74, a lifelong resident of Sedro-Woolley passed away at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon on Saturday, September 18, 2004. She was born on July 24, 1930 in Sedro-Woolley the daughter of Clyde and Mae Boyle Morgan. She was raised and attended schools in Sedro-Woolley. On December 13, 1959 she was united in marriage to Lloyd Armey in Sedro-Woolley. Evelyn worked at the Dairy Bar for many years and also at the Thrifty Foods bakery in Burlington. After Lloyd finished his apprenticeship, Evelyn became a homemaker and raised their children. She enjoyed bingo, knitting and crocheting for her children, grandchildren, friends, but most of all, she enjoyed the love of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd of the family home in Sedro-Woolley; a daughter, Sandra Williams and her companion Steve Hudson; 3 sons, Jim ‘Butch’ Johnson, Curtis Johnson and his wife Jackie and Dennis Armey, all of Sedro-Woolley; 10 grandchildren, Jimmie Walker, David Walker, Cheryl Mogul, Kim Van Esch, Justin Johnson, Alicia Colgan, Jill Armey, Wes Armey, Taryn Armey, and Christopher Armey; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Parker and her husband Wayne of Eureka, CA; 3 sisters-in-law Gladys Smith, Sharon Anthony, LaVonne Hodgin; and 1 brother-in-law Lewis Armey.
and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson A.J. Armey.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Union Cemetery in Sedro-Woolley, with Minister Dave Dowlen of the Church of Christ in Monroe, WA. Services and arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
