After more than 30 years of singing in her church choir, Florine Zola Beebe Hanson was called home on Thursday, September 10, 2009 to sing in her Lord’s choir.
Florine passed away at Life Care Center in Sedro-Woolley surrounded by her church family and friends. She was born on November 22, 1919 in Anacortes the daughter of Roy & Zola Beebe.
Florine was united in marriage to Norman Hanson in 1943 and they farmed in Mount Vernon until moving to Sedro-Woolley in 1948. They were Dairy Farm of the Year in 1957. Florine worked side by side with her husband on the farm along with doing all the book keeping until Norman’s death in 1979. She was a hard worker on the farm and in her church.
She was a member of Cascade Christian Church since 1960, where she taught Sunday School and VBS, along with participating in women’s activities and bible studies. Her hobbies included oil painting, sketching, sewing, crocheting, gardening and canning. She enjoyed animals of all kinds. She had a heart for the Lord which led to her compassionate servant’s heart, reaching out to anyone in need. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a warm smile for everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; her step-sons, Robert and Gene; her parents and her aunts, Vida and Una. She is survived by her church family and numerous friends.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Mount Vernon I.O.O.F. Cemetery, 1200 Fir Street on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cascade Christian Church, 534 Township Street, Sedro-Woolley on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1:00pm followed by a time of fellowship. Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
