Fred ‘Fritz’ Wenrich, age 88, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WA. He was born March 12, 1917 in Lyndhurst, Ohio, the son of Victor and Emily Taflon Wenrich.
Fritz grew up in Ohio and served with the US Army as a Master Sergeant with the 914th Field Artillery Battalion from 1941 to 1945. He was married to Jessie L. Davis on October 21, 1941 in Gates Mills, Ohio. They resided in Colorado after his discharge from the Army for a short time until moving to Marblemount in 1946. Fritz was self employed as a construction and logging contractor operating Wenrich Brothers Construction and Logging Co for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, camping, and was a true outdoorsman and he cherished his gun collection.
Fritz is survived by his wife Jessie Wenrich of Sedro-Woolley and his daughter Linda Vermilye and her husband Michael of Redmond, WA. Two grandchildren Leanne Easterling and her husband James Patrick of Sultan, WA and Lindsey Vermilye of Woodinville, WA and two great grandchildren Carson James and Colby Lee Easterling of Sultan, WA and numerous nieces and nephews. Fritz was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Victor, Rudolph, and Carl and four sisters Emilie, Margaret, Irene, and Elsie.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 27, 2005 at 12:00PM at Lemley Chapel with Pastor Marcus Stroud of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church of Concrete and members of Burlington United Lodge #93 F&AM officiating with committal services to follow at Forest Park Cemetery in Concrete with military honors provided by George Baldridge Post #43 American Legion at 1:30PM. A reception will follow the services at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Friday, August 26, 2005 from 7:00 PM to 8:00PM at Lemley Chapel.
