Frederick Samual Perry, 87, passed away peacefully in Sedro-Woolley on Tuesday, November 10, 2009.

He was born on October 3, 1922 in Savannah, Georgia, the son of Henry P. & Sarah E. Cargo Perry.

Fred honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during WW II, serving in the Pacific where he was wounded and was awarded the Purple Heart.

In February of 1945 he was united in marriage to Evelyn in Long Beach, California. They made their home in the Los Angeles area where Fred worked as a Consumer Division Manager for Presto Foods for several years. Fred is credited with introducing the first non-dairy creamer and whipped topping to the market.

He served as commander of a VFW Post and as an inner guard for the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed singing with the Barber Shop Choruses in San Luis Obispo, CA and in Anacortes, WA. He also enjoyed selling real estate on Whidbey Island where he made many friends. He will be missed.

Fred is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn. His daughter and son-in-law, Diane & Rudolph Rudy Villegas. 2 grandsons, Steven & David Villegas and their families, which include 5 great-grandchildren.
There will be no funeral services. Private inurnment will be at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. The family requests that memorials in Fred’s name be made to the Disabled American Veterans or any veterans association. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
