Gerald A. ‘Cookie’ Cook age 65, went peacefully to heaven on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at his home in Sedro-Woolley surrounded by the love of his family and wife Bonnie of 42 years who he married on June 16, 1961 in Kenmore, WA. He was born March 13, 1938 in Everett, WA to Ralph and Beth Enyeart Cook. Jerry has been a resident of Sedro-Woolley since 1981 coming here from Blaine, WA where for 17 years he worked as a boilermaker for Arco Refinery. He enjoyed country western music and played with the Road Runners Band for many years. Jerry loved fishing and he was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his pride and joy his white 51 Chev Business Coupe ‘Little Darlin.’ He loved his children and grandchildren and was a role model and teacher for them and he will be missed very much. ‘We will always love you Dad.’ Jerry is survived by his wife Bonnie K. Cook of the family home in Sedro-Woolley. 3 daughters Kristi and her husband David Bost of Anacortes, Kathi and her husband Dan Robertson Jr. of Sedro-Woolley, and Kandi and her husband Ralph Weide of Burlington. A son Travis and his wife Kathy Cook of Sedro-Woolley. 8 grandchildren Stephanie Bost, Sara Peters, Amie Weide, Grady Robertson, Keith Weide, Danyel Robertson, Haiden Weide, Isaac Cook and a great granddaughter Isabel Adkison. A sister Bonnie and her husband Frank Jeroz of Medford, OR and 2 brothers Clint and his wife Margo Cook and Malcom and his wife Krissie Fenner all of Woodland, CA. and his mother in law Nannie Noble of Sedro-Woolley. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ruby Porter.
Memorial Services will be Saturday, February 21, 2004 at 11:00AM at the Skagit Valley Church of Christ 215 S. Gardner Rd in Burlington with Pastor Kurt Norton officiating. Jerry fought a courageous battle with male breast cancer for 6 years and the family would like to thank Dr. Shetabi and his staff for their care and kindness during Jerry’s illness.
