Geraldine ‘Gerry’ O’Neil, age 70, passed away Friday, March 4, 2005 at her home in Sedro-Woolley with her family at her side. She was born April 5, 1934 in Choteau, Montana to Frank and Margaret St. Clair Bruno. Gerry attended school in Kalispell, Montana and was a baton twirler for the Flathead Braves while in high school. In 1950, she married her high school sweetheart Hugh Jack O’Neil in Kalispell. In 1959, they moved their family to Sedro-Woolley. When her children were all in school, she attended the nursing program at Skagit Valley College receiving her LPN degree. She worked at several local nursing homes until rheumatoid arthritis forced her to retire. Gerry loved sewing, crocheting, and playing bingo. She was known for her laughter and always had a funny story to tell about her grandkids and great grandkids. Gerry was a member of the Eagles and American Legion. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Hugh in August of 1978. Gerry is survived by her 3 daughters Jackie O’Neil of Sedro-Woolley, Wendy Scollard and her husband Paul of Lyman, and Shelly Hall of Sedro-Woolley. 3 sons Rick O’Neil and his wife Myra, Jerry O’Neil and his wife Jackie, and Shawn O’Neil and his wife Crystal all of Sedro-Woolley. 13 grandchidren Misty, Corey, Cindy, Melissa, Seth, Megan, Casey, Kelsey, Zachary, Jacob, Jamie, Kirin, and Ricky and 10 great grandchildren.
A sister Ethel Ellingson of Kalispell, MT and 2 brothers Larry Bruno of Casa Grande, AZ and Daryl Bruno of Mount Vernon. A brother in law Tom O’Neil and his wife Myrna of Troy, MT and a special friend Eddie Evans of Sedro-Woolley.
Graveside Services will be Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at 11:00AM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Arrangements under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. The family would like to thank Hospice for their wonderful support and to Mom’s special friends Stella, Bev, Marietta, and Kelly. She will be dearly missed.
