GREGG ALAN LOVAAS, 41, a lifelong Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away on Saturday November 1, 2003. Gregg was born on March 30, 1962 in Mount Vernon, WA, the son of Richard A. & Bette J. Erdman Lovaas. He was raised and attended school in Sedro-Woolley, baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1980.
Gregg worked for a few years as a logger with Janicki Logging and later as a security guard with the Washington State Senate. He later worked for several years with the Washington State Department of Transportation and recently he was a commercial painter; painting homes and commercial buildings.
Gregg was a very compassionate, loving and caring person, who enjoyed helping and caring for others. Leisure time found him fishing, gardening, painting, or just enjoying the outdoors. He is survived by his mother, Bette Lovaas, at the family home in Sedro-Woolley. 2 brothers and their wives, Brad & Cathy Lovaas and Steve & Teresa Lovaas, all of Olympia. A paternal grandmother, Theresa Fickel of Olympia. 2 aunts, Jane Fickel of Salem, OR and Janice Byerly and husband Claude of Bremerton, WA. 3 nieces, 1 nephew and numerous cousins and great aunts & uncles. He was preceded in death by his father Richard Lovaas, paternal grandfather Donald Fickel, maternal grandparents, Alfred & Alta Erdman, and uncle Richard Erdman.
A Celebration of Gregg’s Life will be held November 8, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with Mr. Lyle Davis officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Sedro-Woolley Food Bank. You are invited to share your memories of Gregg by signing our online guestbook at www.lemleychapel.com
