Hattie Lee Buchanan, 81, of Birdsview, WA passed away on February 10, 2023 in Mount Vernon, WA.

She was born November 2, 1941 in Franklin County, North Carolina to Charles C. and Kister (Russel) Conner.  Hattie was born a twin to her sister Mattie. Hattie, along with her twin sister, was the youngest of 10 children.

She attended Glenville High School where she graduated.

Hattie worked at Buster Brown sewing plant in North Carolina with her sister Mattie.

Hattie marries her first husband, William Lloyd Combs and they had Barbara, her only daughter. In 1963 they divorced.  On September 9, 1966 Hattie married Albert Milton Buchanan.

Hattie worked at Boeing for 35 years before retiring along with her twin sister, Mattie.  She also worked at Farwest Sewing Plant. Hattie lived in Algona, Graham, Fife, Auburn and eventually making her home in Birdsview next to her twin sister, Mattie.

She was on of the quilters at the Concrete Senior Center, joining the Red Hatters Club, and loved reading Danielle Steele books.  Hattie enjoyed going to church at the Wildwood Chapel here in Birdsview. She had a very strong faith and loved the Lord very much.

Hattie is survived by her only child, Barbara Harrell, of Birdsview, WA; grandchildren, Joshua Marshall, Samantha Nichol; great grandchildren, Olivia Marie, Phinn Marshall, Bradley Marshall; numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Milton Buchanan; siblings, Ruth Stewart, Frank Conner, Raymond & Carl Conner, John Earl, Jr., Caroline Pressley, Alvine R. Conner; twin sister, Mattie Mills; numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00, on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley followed by the committal service at Hamilton Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation on Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 9:00-5:00 at Lemley Chapel. A reception following the service will take place at Brenda Gillocks Home, 39393 Cape Horn RD, Concrete, WA 98237. Share memories of Hattie and sign the online guest register.
