Helen Irene Sutton, a longtime Skagit County resident, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2004 at the Cornerstone Homecare in Sedro-Woolley at the age of 73 years.
She was born October 15, 1930 in Caney Fork, North Carolina, the daughter of Bradley and Dessie Parker Sitton. Helen came to Skagit County from North Carolina in 1947, residing in Hamilton for many years prior to moving to Sedro-Woolley. She worked as a cook in restaurants for many years and later worked as a home health care provider.
She enjoyed movies and picnic’s, but most of all her family.
Helen is survived by her 2 sons, Jerry Sutton of Burlington and Randy Sutton and his wife Vivian of Sedro-Woolley. A daughter, Lois Blankenship and he husband Dave of Montana. A brother, Claude Sitton and his wife Alice of Sedro-Woolley. 4 sisters, Jerlene Mayville and her husband Neal of Sedro-Woolley, Carolyn Mayville and her husband Ray of Burlington, Frankie Shennette and her husband Jon of Sedro-Woolley, and Gertie Gilland of North Carolina. Also numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Keith Sutton, 2 brothers, Lester and Ira Sitton and 2 sisters, Bonnie Gilland and Geneva Bryson.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday March 25, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Pastor Ron Schenk of the Lyman Baptist Church officiating.
