Helen L. ‘Carpenter’ Olsen, 85, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, Washington.
She was born February 15, 1923 in Dickinson, North Dakota the daughter of Louis and Helen Clark Heitman.
Helen has been a resident of Sedro-Woolley since 1930 where she was raised and attended school.
Helen worked as a cashier for the Prairie Market and as a bookkeeper for Valley Restaurant Equipment. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and she enjoyed camping and traveling. She was well known and respected throughout the community.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Julie Ann Carpenter of Sedro-Woolley and her son, Roger L. Carpenter of Pryor, OK. Five grandchildren; Mika Thomas, Cody Carpenter, Trinity Wright, Jolynn Forest and Jessica Peraza and numerous great-grandchildren. Her brother, Charles ‘Bud’ Heitman of Sedro-Woolley; a niece, Debra Louden of Sedro-Woolley and daughters-in-law; Helen Ellis of St. George, Utah, Linda Sylva of Sedro-Woolley and Audrey Carpenter of Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her husband’s, Derold Carpenter and Pete Olsen and by a son, Derold Carpenter, Jr.
There will be no service. Inurnment will be in the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Arrangements and cremation under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
