Henry Douglas Kirner, age 85, of Concrete, passed away September 3, 2013, at Life Care Center of Skagit Valley. He was born March 26, 1928, at Sauk, in Skagit County, to Henry and Bertha (Lewis) Kirner.
At the end of World War II, Henry enlisted in the US Navy, serving through the Korean War. He has been a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.
Henry worked his first dairy farm in Montesano, then in the late ‘50’s, had a dairy farm in Rockport until 1967, when illness forced him to quit. His dairy was his hobby. Henry and Mary Schulze were married in Burlington, December 26, 1962.
Henry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Kirner, of Concrete; daughter, Ashley Gremmert, and her husband, Kurt of Edmonds; son, Kevin Lee and his wife, Ruby, of Sedro-Woolley; daughter, Dee Kirner, of Lynnwood; two granddaughters, Lisa and Rachel; three grandsons, Brett, Drew and Chase; a great grandson, Tony; a great granddaughter, Jasmine and her husband, Matt; a great great grandson, Ezekiel; and due next month, great-great granddaughter Allison.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
