Howard H. Ashton, age 75, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008 at his home in Sedro-Woolley, Washington.
He was born May 11, 1933 in Yankton, North Dakota to Howard and Mary Ashton. Howard was a resident of Sedro-Woolley for the past 5 years coming here from Wheat Ridge, Colorado where he resided for many years. He worked as a maintenance engineer for the State of Colorado at the Colorado School of Mines and later at other state facilities.
Howard was a member of Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship, he loved the Lord and his church. He enjoyed walking, swimming, trains, and reading. He adored his children and all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he will be greatly missed. He will be remembered for always helping and giving to others, working for Meals on Wheels and serving as a trustee at his church.
Howard is survived by his children; Ruth Lynn Griffin and her husband, Chuck of Sedro-Woolley, WA, Sheryl Strople and her husband, Gordon of Montrose, CO, Beth Banke and her husband, Mike of Gaston, OR, Tim Ashton of Grand Junction, CO, Mark Ashton and his wife, Kris of Lafayette, CO, David Price of Denver, CO, Sue Ashton of North Glen, CO, Kristy Ashton of Norfolk, NE, James ‘Henry’ Ashton and his wife, Rose of Commerce City, CO, Gabriel Ashton and his wife, Carrie of Sedro-Woolley, and John- Paul Ashton and his wife, Julie of Mount Vernon, WA, 38 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and his brother, John Ashton of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, a son Michael Price, a great grandson Josiah Griffin, and a brother, Alan Ashton.
A private graveside Inurnment Service will be held at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with a Memorial Service to follow on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship on Hwy 20 in Sedro-Woolley with Pastors Kirby and Shirley Bertholf officiating.
