Ireda M. Tedrick, age 96, a resident of Creekside Retirement Community in Burlington, Washington passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009. She died peacefully with her daughter at her side.

Ireda has been a resident of Sedro-Woolley since 1959. She was born in Guernsey County, Ohio on August 6, 1913 to Frank and Leola Shearrow. She was united in marriage to Merle D. Tedrick Jim in Wheeling, West Virginia on June 8, 1933. They lived in various locations in Guernsey County until moving to Washington in 1959. While living in Ohio, she was active in the Rural Neighbors Club. In February of 2008, she moved to Creekside where she has lived since.

Ireda was a homemaker all her married life; she also worked for National Cannery in Burlington for 13 of those years. She was a member of the Mount Vernon Church of Christ for many years. She was proud of having been the one who baked the communion bread for many years when she was younger.

Ireda is survived by her daughters, Shirley Terry Fair of Bay View, Washington and Delores Robert Smith of Tracy, California. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Merle Jim, her daughter Sandra Shelton, and her grandson, Tim Fair. She had three brothers and three sisters who are all deceased.

Ireda loved family gatherings, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. she loved to cook for those occasions and when attending a pot luck she would always provide more than one dish.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with Mr. Jim Watson officiating. Interment will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. A fellowship will follow the services at Creekside Retirement Community in Burlington.
