Irene Mabel Windish, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2004 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley at the age of 94 years. She was born April 9, 1910 in Clear Lake, WA, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Kimble Isaacson. Irene grew up and attended school in the Clear Lake area. She was united in marriage to Walter Windish on March 1, 1928 in Everett, WA and they resided in the Big Lake area for 55 years until moving to Sedro-Woolley in 1992.
For many years, Irene worked at J.C. Penny’s as a cashier and sales clerk, retiring in 1972. For many years, Irene worked on the Election Board in Big Lake. Irene was a member Lakeside Rebecca Lodge, Clear Lake Historical Society, Clear Lake Improvement Club, Territorial Daughters #1, Community Covenant Church of Clear Lake, and a former member of Riverside Grange # 959.
She is survived by her 2 sons, Dan I. Windish of Sedro-Woolley and Ressie Windish, and his wife Betty of Mazama, WA. 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 13 brothers and sisters, her husband, Walter, in 1968, her son, Dines Windish and a grandson David Windish.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday August 7, 2004 at 4:00 PM at the Community Covenant Church of Clear Lake with Pastor Jerry Johnson officiating. Inurnment Services for the family will be at 2:00 PM the Mount Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements and Services under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
