Iris Marjorie Hanson, age 89, passed away Friday, May 1, 2009 at Birchview Memory Care in Sedro-Woolley, WA.

She was born April 24, 1920 in Walthamstow London, England to Charles and Sarah Mitchell Whitehead.
Iris grew up in London and during WWII, she served with the Woman’s Royal Air Force. After the war, she immigrated to the United States and resided in Minnesota with her husband running a lakeside resort. She worked in catering for many years. She later resided in Anacortes for many years until moving to Sedro-Woolley. She loved parrots and was known to be quite a character.

Iris is survived by her nephew and his wife; Robert and Sylvia Agass of London and her sister, Fay Agass of London.

A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Jim Cannon of Bethel Assembly of God Church officiating. Services and cremation arrangements under the care of Lemley Chapel.
