IVAN MOHLIN, 93, a longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Thursday June 26, 2003 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
Ivan was born in Fossjodal, Sweden on January 30, 1910, the son of & Robert & Sabina Erikson Mohlin. In 1929 he came to Skagit County, settling in Sedro-Woolley and worked for a while in the logging industry. On March 24, 1934 he was united in marriage to Edith ‘Millie’ Hendrickson in Sedro-Woolley and they have made their home there for the past 69 years.
Ivan was well known as being a detail oriented residential carpenter, constructing beautiful homes for many of Skagit Counties residents. It was an occupation that he enjoyed and did for many years.
Ivan was an avid hunter and fisherman and also built river boats for many of the Skagit River’s fisherman. He also enjoyed raising beef cattle on his farm.
Ivan is survived by his wife of 69 years, ‘Millie’, at the family home in Sedro-Woolley. His daughter, Barbara Hanson, also of Sedro-Woolley. 4 grandchildren and their spouses, Gary & Linda Hanson and Rick & Joan Hanson, all of Big Lake, Cheryl & Mark Lee of Oak Harbor and Brian & Darlene Hanson of Sedro-Woolley, Dianne Hanson of Monroe, WA wife of deceased grandson Ronny Hanson. His twin sisters, Ingrid Svensk and Karen Hedquist, both living in Sweden. 18 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ronny Hanson, 1 sister, Greta and 2 brothers, Eric & Rune.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday July 2, 2003 at 7:00 PM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley. David Tolliver associated with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Sedro-Woolley officiating.
