Jean Cannon Wagner

Wednesday, June 9th, 2004

JEAN C. WAGNER, 59, moved on to be with the angels at her home in Sedro-Woolley on Wednesday June 9, 2004 surrounded by those she loved.
She was born on October 28, 1944 in Webster, North Carolina, the daughter of Lewis and Elizabeth Davis Cannon.
Jean spoke with great fondness of her southern childhood. She has spent the last 40 years building a home in Skagit County.
Jean was a lover of bluegrass and gospel music, family, friends and children. She was always ready for that all night yahtzee game, to play bingo, go to a potluck or picnic, or just visit with family and friends on the phone. She also enjoyed traveling and would spend each summer traveling across the country by car.
Jean touched the lives of everyone she encountered and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Paul J. Wagner at the family home. 2 sons and their wives, Paul L. & Cassandra Wagner and Frank & Rachel Wagner. 8 daughters and their husbands, Crystal & Michael Dixon, Barbara Schimke & husband Martin Van Rensum, Donna & Jerry Greenwell, Gloria & Doug McDonald, Cheryl & Tim Bates, Kathy & John Vander Pol, Rebecca Hoyle and Kim Miles. 24 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Countless lifelong friends she considered family and extensive family in North Carolina, including Bill & Margaret Hall, Pam & Billy Justus, Bill & Wanda Hall and Nancy & Terry Peace. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Gloria Elizabeth Wagner; a sister, Libby Anne Hall and 2 sons-in-law, Brian Hoyle and Norman Schimke.
The family suggests memorials to Skagit Hospice in memory of Jean.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday June 14, 2004 at 2:00 PM at the Hamilton Cemetery. Mr. Arnold L. Roberts officiating. Visitation is available at Lemley Chapel on Saturday from 9 to 5, Sunday by appointment and Monday from 9 AM to noon. Arrangements under direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
