Jon Drew Eckert, age 66, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WA. He was born March 4, 1937 in Blairstown, Iowa the son of John and Agnes Mae Buhrman Eckert. Jon came to Washington from Iowa in 1947 and on May 2, 1958 he was married to Joyce Spencer at Silver Lake, WA. He has been a resident of Mount Vernon for the past 33 years where he worked as a quality control machinist for the Boeing Co, Skagit Steel, and Pyro Industries until his retirement. Jon was a member of Central Valley Assembly of God Church in Burlington and he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and he loved his dogs. He is survived by his wife Joyce of the family home in Mount Vernon. 3 sons Edward and his wife Kobi Eckert of Sedro-Woolley, Kevin Eckert of Sedro-Woolley, and Aaron Eckert and his partner Pasquale Di Palma of Richmond, BC Canada. A daughter Melinda Angotti of Juneau, AK. Grandchildren Kymber, Brittany, and Heather Angotti and Hannah, Stephanie, and Jennifer Byars. 2 brothers David J. and his wife Julie Eckert of Atlanta, GA and Jeffrey D. Eckert of Yakima, WA.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 6, 2004 at 11:00AM at the Central Valley Assembly of God Church 1551 E. Rio Vista Ave Burlington with Pastor David Holt officiating. Interment will follow in the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday and Friday from 9AM to 5 PM at Lemley Chapel.
