KAREN E. GUNDERSEN ARCHER, 65, a lifelong Skagit County resident, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at the Kindred Hospital in Seattle.
She was born on October 26, 1938 in Burlington, WA, the daughter of Harry & Arvilla Marchant Gundersen. She was also raised and attended school in Burlington.
On June 3, 1977 she was united in marriage to Rodney "Gene" Archer in Virginia City, Nevada and they made their home in Sedro-Woolley.
Karen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She enjoyed all things having to do with the outdoors; camping, fishing, gardening. She enjoyed canning vegetables from her garden, but mostly being with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Rodney "Gene" Archer at the family home in Sedro-Woolley. Her son, Jim Rasar and his wife Fryth, of Blaine, WA. Her daughters, Jennifer Mapes of Sedro-Woolley and Missy Mapes Schmidt, and her husband Kerry of Stanwood, WA. 10 grandchildren, Joe, David, Stuart and Sadie Rasar, Emily and Amanda Tonheim, Daniel Mapes Hoffecker, Dusty Ceradsky, Kurt Archer and Melissa Heller, also numerous other family members and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Harry & Arvilla Gundersen, and a daughter, Brigitte Ceradsky. The family requests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association.
A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at the Allen-Blanchard United Methodist Church, 16775 Allen West Road, Bow. Dr. Wayne Martin officiating.
