KATHRYN S. ‘KAY’ WALLEY, 85, a resident of Sedro-Woolley,
passed away on Thursday July 15, 2004 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon.
She was born on February 28, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Lawrence Lon & Ruth Brinton Spencer. She was raised in Salt Lake City where she graduated from high school in 1936.
She came to Skagit County in 1952, residing in Anacortes for a short time and in Mount Vernon until 1968 when she finally settled in Sedro-Woolley.
She was united in marriage to Donald ‘Spud’ Walley on February 20, 1999.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jim Shelby; her husbands, LeRoy Shelby and Dale Greene; 1 brother & 1 sister.
She is survived by her husband, Don ‘Spud’ Walley; son, Rich Shelby and wife Camille of Edmonds; a daughter-in-law, Carla Shelby of Sedro-Woolley; a sister, Nan Fife of Los Alamos, NM; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Kay requests memorials be made to the Children’s Fund c/o Skagit Valley Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 1376, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
Join Kay’s family at a Celebration of Life Barbeque at Riverfront Park in Sedro-Woolley on Friday July 23, 2004, starting at 5:00 PM.
