Lawrence Alvin Odegard Sr. age 89, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2005 in Renton, WA. He was born January 26, 1916 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the son of Albert and Ida Kortness Odegard. Lawrence grew up in North Dakota and was married to Anna Marie Heine on July 17, 1937 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. During WWII, he served with the US Navy and after the war, they moved to Seattle where Lawrence worked as a baker for Langendorf which later became Gay’s Bakery. In 1984, Lawrence moved to Rockport and lived there until moving to Enumclaw in 1991. He resided there until 2000 when he moved to the Seattle-Renton area. Lawrence enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, camping, and traveling. He is survived by 3 daughters Darlene Smith of Renton, Carol Williams and her husband Duane of Seatac, and Judy Howard and her husband Steve of Seattle. 4 sons Lawrence Odegard Jr and his wife Cheryll of Seattle, Ron Odegard and his wife Pam of Seattle, Bob Odegard and his wife Kathy of Seatac, and Brian Odegard and his wife Samantha of Renton. 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren. A brother Donald Odegard and his wife Mavis of Seatac and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna Marie in October of 1889, 2 sisters Darlene and Laverne and 2 brothers Wallace and Roy.
Graveside Services will be Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at 11:00AM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Pastor Ron Schenk of the Lyman Baptist Church officiating. Memorials are suggested to your favorite charity. Arrangements and Services under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
