LEE ‘HOSS’ PALLOGI, SR., 67, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Saturday August 14, 2004 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
He was born on December 27, 1936 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, the son of Joe & Elsie Townson Pallogi.
As a young boy his family came to Skagit County, settling in Day Creek. He attended school in Sedro-Woolley, where he was no scholar, but great in sports; becoming the football captain and King Legs at Sedro-Woolley High School. Just days after graduating from high school in June of 1955 he was united in marriage to Jean Marie Hobson at the Day Creek Chapel and they made their home on the Hobson homestead where they raised cattle and Quarter horses.
Leo did a lot of things in life, from building roads, sawing shakes, working for the Forest Service, working at Northern State Hospital and for many years at Skagit Corporation as a welder/fitter, making many logging towers and off shore drilling equipment, some still used today.
When Skagit closed he returned to the logging business with used equipment, but with good business sense and diligence he was able to buy a new Kenworth truck and hire extra employees.
