Lisa May Shafer passed away suddenly Friday, January 23, 2004 at her home in Concrete, WA at the age of 44 years. She was born December 22, 1959 in Ballard, WA. Lisa was a resident of Skagit Valley for the past 14 years of which the last 3 years were in Concrete. She grew up in Lynnwood, WA and graduated from Meadowdale High School in 1979. She was married to Don Shafer on July 17, 1982 in Naches, WA and they resided in Snohomish County until moving to Skagit Valley. She and her husband were involved with children’s ministry throughout the Northwest and she was the Children’s Pastor at New Beginnings Church in Everett, WA. Lisa loved animals and crafts and was involved with her daughters 4-H activities. She is survived by her husband Don Shafer of the family home in Concrete. Her children Garret Shafer of Sedro-Woolley and Devin and Andrea Shafer of the family home. Her mother Delores Ostrander-Ragle and step-father Eugene Ragle of Sedro-Woolley and a sister Tracy and her husband Tim Buchanan of Alabama.
Memorial Services will be Saturday, January 31, 2004 AT 2:00PM at the New Beginnings Church 2531 Oakes Ave in Everett, WA with Pastors Frank Pina and Dennis Mumms officiating. A local Memorial Service will be held Sunday, February 1, 2004 at 6:00PM at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Sedro-Woolley.
