Lois Ann Burman passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at the Providence Hospital in Everett, WA at the age of 65 years. She was born December 21, 1937 in Salem, OR the daughter of Robert J. and Evelyn L. Dennis McCarty. Lois was a resident of Snohomish for the past 9 years and formally resided in Bellevue for 30 years. She loved working in her yard and garden which contained a large koi pond. Lois was an active member of the Washington Koi and Water Garden Society and she had been awarded the ACKA Koi Person of the Year Award for 2001. She was well thought of by members of the Koi Club and an ongoing Inspirational Award was in the progress of being established in her name by the Koi Club. She is survived by her husband Bob Burman of Snohomish. Her children Kimberly Kemp Schoeler and her husband Tony of Federal Way and Kenneth R. and his wife Kelly Kemp of Snohomish. 7 grandchildren Melissa and Michael Schoeler, Ryan and Spencer Kemp, Lauren and Kelly Burman, and Bradley Williams.
Stepchildren Steve Burman of Bellevue, Julie Burman of Vashon Island, and Alice Burman of Olympia. Her sister Bobi and her husband Paul Kelley and nephews Dan and Scott Kelley all of Mount Vernon as well as many friends.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Sunday, October 5, 2003 at 1:00PM in the yard and garden of Lois’s home at 11910 205th Dr SE in Snohomish. Memorials are suggested to the NW Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.
