Lois Marie Brevik, age 82, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009 at her home in Sedro-Woolley, Washington.

She was born October 23, 1927 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Ernest and Ollie Sheets Dempsey. Lois grew up in Oklahoma coming to Sedro-Woolley with her family in 1940.

She was married to Clifford Brevik on September 16, 1945 in Sedro-Woolley and they celebrated 51 years together until his passing in 1996.

Lois worked as a librarian for both the City of Sedro-Woolley and at Northern State Hospital until its closure. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and flowers and working on family genealogy.

Lois is survived by her three sons, Ray Brevik of Sedro-Woolley, Ron Brevik and his wife Launa of Lynden, Russell Brevik and his wife Debbie of Norfolk, Virginia, and a daughter, Mary Pettit and her husband Maurice of Sumner. Two brothers, Glenn Dempsey of Elko, NV and LeRoy Dempsey of Burlington. Eleven grandchildren, Fourteen great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clifford, a sister, Gladys, a brother, Jack and a grandson Johnny Simmons.

At Lois’s request there are to be no services. Inurnment will be at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Arrangements under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
