Lorraine E. Pilkenton, 79, a resident of Mount Vernon, passed away on August 14, 2017 at Skagit Valley Hospital.

She was born on March 27, 1938 in Los Angeles, CA, one of eight children of Herbert & Laura (Welty) Pilkenton.  She was raised and attained her education in Los Angeles.

After graduating from catholic schools in 1956 in Los Angeles she worked as a bookkeeper at Newberry’s Department store until moving to the Bow area in the early 1980’s, where she made her home.

Lorraine was one of the founding partners of Skagit Gleaners where she was involved for many years and she also worked as an in home care provider.

Lorraine is survived by her sister, Mary Watts and her husband Wayne, and her brother, Patrick Pilkenton, all of Bow, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her companion Dave; 4 brothers, Herbert, Jr., Charles, John & Donald Pilkenton, and one sister, Virginia.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 2:30 PM at the Bow Cemetery with Father Jeffrey Moore officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
