Louisa May Messer, 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Sedro-Woolley, WA on Monday, June 26, 2023. She was born on December 24, 1935 to Joe and Velma (Dyer) Yeager in their family home in Van Horn, Skagit County.

She grew up in Concrete attending school there and graduated from Concrete High School in 1955. She married Richard Wegers in 1954 and together they had six children.

Louisa eventually moved to Sedro-Woolley and attended Mount Vernon Beauty School where she earned her Beautician’s License. She married Elmer Messer in 1980. Louisa Enjoyed camping, hunting, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a talented artist who enjoyed creating and painting ceramics, and painting beautiful scenery on canvas, saw blades, cast irons, etc.

Louisa is survived by her children, Deanna (Robert) Mitchell, of Roundup, MT, Pamela Jensen, of Concrete, WA, Teri (Brian) of Concrete, WA, Tracy Wegers of Concrete, WA, Connie (Scott) Ackerson, of Sedro-Woolley, WA; stepson, Charlie Messer, of Sedro-Woolley, WA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Velma Yeager; husband Elmer Messer; daughter, Brenda Wegers; stepchildren, Kenneth Messer, Linda (Messer) Hoover, Robert “Cleve” Messer, and Roger Messer.

A Memorial service for Louisa will be held at 1:00, on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Inspire Church, 805 Township St, Sedro-Woolley, with Pastor Josh McLaughlin officiating. Following the service there will be a potluck and fellowship in the church reception hall, please bring your favorite dish and story to share with friends and family.
