LUOLA M. BERG, 93, a former Sedro-Woolley area resident passed away on Thursday November 28, 2002 at the Crescent Home Care Center in Bothell.
She was born on December 17, 1908 in Bellingham, WA, the daughter of James & Olive Davidson Days. She was raised and attended school at South Pass near Sumas & Everson. She graduated from Sumas High School in 1925 and then attended Bellingham Normal School where she earned a teaching degree. She taught school for a time until she married Clarence White in 1931, and they made their home in Sumas. He preceded her in death in 1952. In 1957 she married Roy Berg in Everson, WA and they made their home in Sedro-Woolley. Luola worked as a teller for U.S. Bank in Sedro-Woolley for 15 years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and was a volunteer at United General Hospital, providing over 6000 hours of service to the hospital gift shop. She was also a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints in Sedro-Woolley.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard & Judy White of Woodinville. Her daughter, Carla Stiles of Bothell. 4 grandchildren, Carol Binder, Diana VanWeerdhuizen and Carl and Carman White, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence in 1952 and Roy in 1972. A son James White in 1966, a grandson David White, and 3 brothers, Ben, Frank and Joe Days.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday December 4, 2002 at 12:30 P.M. at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley. Bishop Mel Call from the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, Sedro-Woolley Ward, officiating. Visitation will be on Monday & Tuesday from 9 AM to 5 PM and on Wednesday from 9 AM to 11:30 AM. The family suggests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
