Maria Elena Bocanegra, age 63, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at her home in Sedro-Woolley, Washington.
She was born July 8, 1944 in Eden, Texas to Pedro and Anastacia DeLeon Costilla.
Maria grew up and resided in the Petersburg, Texas area for many years until moving to Burlington, Washington where she resided for 14 years until moving to Sedro-Woolley, Washington 10 months ago. She worked as a care giver and was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Maria was very religious person who will be remembered as a loving, kind and compassionate person who especially loved her family. Maria collected angels, enjoyed crocheting and watching the Seahawks.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosemary Garay and her husband Robert of San Antonio, TX and her son, Leonel Lopez of Petersburg, TX. Brothers and sisters, Isabel Costilla of Petersburg, TX, Raymond Costilla and his wife Alice of Guymon, OK, Joe Costilla and his wife Eva of Abernathy, TX, Felipe Costilla of Petersburg, TX, Antonia Ramirez and her husband Lorenzo of Blanchard, WA, Daniel Costilla of Show Low, AZ, Manuel Costilla and his wife Lupe of Lubbock, TX, Gilbert Costilla and his wife Juanita of Everett, WA, Richard Costilla and his wife Pauline of Marysville, WA, and Jessie Garcia and her husband Steve of Arlington, WA and numerous nieces and nephews. Maria was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Frank Sr. and Pete Jr.
A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 7:00PM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Friday, December 14, 2007 at 11:00AM at St. Charles Catholic Church, 935 Peterson Rd in Burlington with Father Martin Bourke, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Cemetery in Burlington. Arrangements and Services under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
