Marietta Marie Emmons, age 64, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Thursday, June 11, 2009 in Bow, Washington.
She was born on November 19, 1944 in Mount Vernon, Washington to Merle and Della Howard Vance.
Marietta grew up in Concrete where she attended grade school, later moving to Mount Vernon and graduating from Mount Vernon High School in 1962. She attended Skagit Valley College and graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in Human Services, later working with mentally handicapped individuals.
Marietta will be remembered by her love of camping at the ocean, traveling in her motor home, gardening and working with ceramics. She was a strong willed women, her spirit and fortitude lives on through her six sons; Tony Ruiz and his wife, Marcella of American Falls, ID, Gene Abernathy of Bow, Jeremy Abernathy and his wife, Jamie of Sedro-Woolley, Juan Cerrillo and his wife, Amy of Sedro-Woolley, Lorenzo Zendejas and his wife, Adriane of Lynnwood and William Plymale and his wife, Tricia of Sedro-Woolley. 12 grandchildren, AJ, Chelcea, Melinda, Laci, Ein, Madison, Maison, Baker, Logan, Dustin, Kaden and Tyler, and a great-grandson, Talon. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Rosalie Plymale.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 2:00PM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Joe Miller of the Sedro-Woolley Community Church officiating. Inurnment will be at the Hamilton Cemetery at a later date.
