MARION E. ‘MICKIE’ NIELSON, 63, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2004 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
She was born on September 21, 1941 in Missoula, Montana, the daughter Art & Doris Riewoldt Goudette.
Mickie came to Skagit County in 1950, living in Mount Vernon where she was raised and attended school, graduating from Mount Vernon High School in 1960.
Mickie was affectionately known as the ‘cat lady’ in her tireless effort to rescue abandoned cats to give them a home and a better life. In her final year she became acquainted with the S.P.O.T. organization, and her family would like to say thank you to this organization for all their kindness and support.
Mickie is survived by her 2 sons, Bill Nielson of Concrete and Mike Nielson of Anacortes. Her mother, Doris Bradshaw of Sedro-Woolley. 3 sisters, Sharon Kirkman of Mount Vernon, Debbie Wenrick of Sedro-Woolley and Dee Hoover of Camano Island. 1 brother, Aaron Percy Bradshaw of Mount Vernon. 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Art Goudette, her step-father, Percy Bradshaw and 2 brothers.
