Marra Marlene Morris age 43, Of Upper Skagit passed away January 25, 2024. She was born October 14, 1980 in Seattle Washington to Manuel Verzola and Barbara Williams.

Marra was very well known for traveling all over Indian Country for church. She made so many friends and touched so many peoples lives. She was such a powerful woman of god. If you were lucky enough to know Marra you would know how much she loved everyone in her family and everyone who she crossed paths with until they crossed her or one of “hers” as she would put it. She loved all of her friends and families kids like they were her own. One of her favorites was Jerome, she even gave Jr and Jerome their first tattoos when they were babies. We all knew we could trust her to take care of our kids when she had them because her love and loyalty to all of us was unlike anyone else’s in the world. IF she called you her sister, she whole heartedly meant it. She had the most contagious laugh and the biggest heart, she would give anyone her last.

The one thing we all knew about Marra was that her children and grandchildren were her world, she loved all of them so much. She was the best Nanny girl. She loved to bake with her granddaughters and did as much as she could, teaching them to cook was one of her favorite things to do.

She loved her culture and smokehouse family very much, especially her partner in crime as she liked to call her, Karlie. Karlie and Marra loved spending their winters together living in the smokehouse and taking care of all the new dancers.

Marra is survived by her husband, Lance Morris; children Alyssa and Angela Aguilar-Verzola, Christopher Mahle Jr., and the twins Vicki & Verna Mahle. Grandchildren Nayeli, Natalia, Baby Manny, Xylanii, and Christopher III.

She is preceded in death by her parents Barbara Williams, Manuel Verzola, and her son Duane Lee Mahle. Siblings Verna and Manny Big Beaver.

Marra was an amazing woman and will be missed by everyone so much.
