MARY LOU CHANDLER, 70, a lifelong Skagit County resident, passed away on Saturday November 13, 2004 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
Mary was born on November 5, 1934 in Hamilton, Washington, the daughter of William A. & Olive Franks Brown.
She attended grade school in Hamilton and High School in Sedro-Woolley, graduating with the class of 1953.
On September 17, 1954 she was united in marriage to Lloyd Chandler in Burlington and they made their home in Bellingham and Burlington before settling in Sedro-Woolley in 1966.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and when she wasn’t breaking up arguments and wrestling matches with the kids, or instigating arguments, she enjoyed doing embroidery and ceramics, working puzzles, knitting, and growing flowers in her garden.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lloyd. 1 daughter and son-in-law, Lanell & Tom Wenrick of Sedro-Woolley. 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Paul & Dottie Chandler of Burlington, Eric & Patty Chandler, Gerald & Marilyn Chandler and Jason & Jennifer Chandler, all of Sedro-Woolley. 12 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jacob, Jared, Erica, Kristen, Stephanie, Ryan, Jena, Troy, Ashley, Weylin and Elizabeth and 2 great-grandchildren, Kaleb & Braxton. 2 sisters, Eva Walden & husband, Gilbert of Alger, WA and Ruth Huff and husband Henry in North Carolina. Also numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Charlie & Robert ‘Duke’ Brown and 3 sisters, Merle Kringle, Norma Day & Nada Allen. 4 half-brothers, Edgar, Kenneth, Dewey and Howard and 4 half-sisters, Maybelle, Wilsie, Hazel & Gladys.
Mary’s family extends a heart felt thank you to the staff at the Skagit Valley Kidney Center, Dr. Kumar and his staff and the Dial-A-Ride bus drivers for their love and support.
Memorials are suggested to the Skagit Valley Kidney Center in Mount Vernon in memory of Mary.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday November 19, 2004 at 1:00 PM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley. Pastor Wendy Tingley of Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Sedro-Woolley officiating. Interment will follow at Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. A fellowship will follow the graveside service at Trinity United Presbyterian Church on Collins Road.
