Maxine Mildred Kjorsvik, age 87, passed away Friday, September 19, 2008 at the Providence Hospital in Everett, Washington.
She was born June 7, 1921 in White Earth, Minnesota to George and Madeline Fairbanks Hodder. Maxine was a former resident of Seattle for many years operating numerous restaurants throughout the Seattle area. She was married to Kenneth Kjorsvik in 1964 in Seattle and they moved to the Cape Horn area near Concrete, WA where she resided for 35 years.
Her husband, Kenneth preceded her in death in 1979.
Maxine was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Sedro-Woolley and a long time member of the Eagles. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, fishing on the Skagit River, gardening, and family get-togethers.
She is survived by her 12 children; Floyd Hintz and his wife Deanna of Birdsview, Barbara Vest and her husband Terry of Stanwood, Greg Hintz and his wife Colette of Ellensburg, Patti Hintz of Mill Creek, Dennis Hintz of Enumclaw, Darryl Hintz of Burlington, Diane Hintz of Everett, Margo Massingale and her husband Darryl of Birdsview, Monica Hintz of Mount Vernon, Debra Bazinet and her husband Ed of Sedro-Woolley, Mary Wold and her husband Steve of Darrington, and Brian Hintz of Simi Valley, CA.
Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins in Minnesota, and 2 close friends, Ruby Shotz of Minnesota and Kathleen Kelly of Concrete.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, a son Thomas in 2007, a daughter Catherine Jane, a grandson, Jordan, and 2 brothers Harold and Frank Hodder.
A Funeral Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 9:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Sedro-Woolley with Father Martin Bourke as Celebrant. Inurnment will follow at the Forest Park Cemetery in Concrete. A reception will follow the services at the CCD Center in Concrete.
