Nancy Jo Loyd

Wednesday, March 4th, 2020

Nancy Jo Loyd, 58 of Coupeville on Whidbey Island passed away at 9:20pm on March 4, 2020 at home with loved ones.  Nancy was born April 10, 1962, to Mother, Donna and Father, Ralph Jackson in Spokane WA.  She had two sisters, Cindy and Samantha.  She was the middle child of the three girls.

Nancy grew up for the most part on Whidbey Island and went to Oak Harbor High School.  She had four boys of her own, David, Chris, Michael & Nicholas.  David and Chris were from her first marriage, Michael & Nicholas from her second.  She moved all over the country during the married years.

She moved away to California when she first got married to start a family in the late 70’s.  Eventually, she ended up in Tennessee with her second marriage and had a couple more boys.  About 1995 or 1996 she came back to Whidbey Island, back home as it were, to raise her two youngest boys, Michael & Nicholas.

She bought a home at the Terry Mobile Park and went to work at The Country Store in Coupeville where she met Michael Lambert.  She went on to work at Fort Casey as maintenance and house keeping.  Great at her job, always.  So organized at everything.  After leaving Fort Casey, Nancy worked with Michael at Advanced Construction & Maintenance, Inc. as the office manager for over 12 years, until she became too ill to work.  They were together until her death in 2020.

Nancy was a born detective, she could find anything on anyone.  She tracked down Michael’s daughters and stepdad after nine years with no information.  She loved playing games on Facebook, like Farmville and Candy Crush.  She loved talking to family and was always so devastated when a loved one passed away.  She was most famous for baking.  Her egg rolls and carrot cake were the best!  Everyone always looked forward to getting some of them.  Totally Awesome.

We all will miss her smiling face and witty sense of humor.  Nancy was taken from us to soon after a tough battle with cancer.  She fought like a trooper, but it was to late to save her.  She is in a better place and no longer battling the pain.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 Saturday, November 12, 2022  at Lemley Chapel.
