NELLIE E. FRANK, 85, a longtime Concrete area resident passed away on Thursday May 26, 2005 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
She was born on October 1, 1919 in Sumas, Washington, the daughter of Archie & Minnie Conant Johnson. She was raised and attended school in Sumas in Whatcom County.
On August 16, 1940 she was united in marriage to John W. Frank at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Sedro-Woolley and together they made their home in Concrete for 45 years until John’s death in 1985.
For over 25 years Nellie was employed by the Lone Star Cement Co. in Concrete where she managed and operated the Clinker Club. She retired in 1986.
Nellie was an avid reader and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She was also a 65 year member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Concrete.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Apple of Sedro-Woolley and David Frank of Mount Vernon. 6 grandchildren, Joseph, Katherine, Angela, Amy, Aaron and Alex; 4 great-grandchildren and her sister, Edith King.
Besides her husband John she was preceded in death by a brother.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday June 1, 2005 at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Concrete with Father Robert Hagan, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery in Concrete.
The family suggests memorials be made to St. Catherine’s Catholic Church.
