NORA MAY MORGAN, 81, a resident of Bellingham, passed away on Monday October 6, 2003 at the St. Francis Extended Health Care Facility.
She was born on July 12, 1922 at Nooksack, WA, the daughter of Walter & Selma Anderson Morgan. In 1929 the family moved to Alberta, Canada where they lived until 1938 when they moved to Marblemount, WA. Nora attended and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School. She then made her home in Seattle for time until returning to Skagit County living in Marblemount and Big Lake. In 1958 she moved to California where she worked as a dispatcher for the Los Angeles Police Dept and for th Yellow Cab Company. In 1968 she began working for AT&T Telephone as a telephone operator. In 1971 she transferred to Bellingham and then to Seattle in 1978 working for PNW Bell. She retired in 1986 as an analyst and returned to Bellingham where she has since made her home. She was a member of the Eagles Aux. in Bellingham. Leisure time found her playing bingo, sewing and knitting, painting or traveling. She would travel on Amtrak or by driving her ‘cramper’ to destinations all over the U.S.
She was a very devoted mother and grandmother and kept in contact with all her family. She was beautiful, talented and much loved; she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Mick Cole and wife Mary Ann of Rochester, NY, Lance Cole and wife Shannon Brown of Portland, OR, Casey Cole and wife Nadia Traietti of Austin, TX, Patricia Cole of Bow and Kathleen Emmerson and husband Rick of Quilcene, WA. 11 grandchildren, David & Jamie Peterson, Massimo, Matteo and Allegra Cole, Amy Berreth, Murray, Anna & Jonathan Cole, Micheal Fron and Tracy Landry; and 9 great-grandchildren. 1 brother, Ted Morgan of Boise, ID and 1 sister, Joan Carpenter of Fallbrook, CA. Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Marie Fron, 4 brothers and 1 sister. The family suggests memorials be made to the St. Francis Foundation, 3121 Squalicum Parkway, Bellingham, WA 98225.
Graveside Inurnment services will be held Friday October 10, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Green Hills Memorial Cemetery in Burlington. Pastor James Larson officiating.
