Opal A. ‘Peggy R.’ Scott, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, WA passed away Sunday, October 3, 2004 in Sedro-Woolley at the age of 94 years. She was born April 5, 1910 in Cranberry, West Virginia, the daughter of Gabrial and Lina Dickerson Richardson. Peggy grew up and attended schools in North Dakota and was married to Norman Scott on July 29, 1927 in Jamestown, ND. She and Norman moved to Walla Walla in 1935 residing there until 1950 when they moved to Seattle. After Norman’s death in 1967, Peggy moved to Alaska in 1968 and resided there until moving to Bellingham in 1972. In 1982, she moved to Mount Vernon residing there until moving to Sedro-Woolley in March of this year. Peggy was a lifetime member of Eastern Star, The Moose, Eagles, and a member of the marching team for the Moose. She also enjoyed dancing and gambling at the local casinos. Peggy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Gordon and June Scott of Bellingham. 5 grandchildren Connie Delusa and her husband Bill of Sedro-Woolley, Randy W. Scott of Mount Vernon, and Janice Koenig and her husband Stan of Sedro-Woolley, Sharil Webber-Coad of Seattle, and Don Donaldson and his wife Jan of Everett. 6 great grandchildren Christina, Sheila, Jacob, Jamie, Elizabeth, Kimberly and 6 great-great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan, Lindsea, Andrew, Logan, and Myah. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, and 6 sisters.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, October 10, 2004 at 1:00PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Wendy Tingley of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow on Monday at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery in Seattle. Memorials are suggested to Skagit Hospice 2000 Hospital Dr Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284.
