Pearl Charlotte Rodriguez a Skagit County resident for the past 44 years, passed away Friday, April 2, 2004 at her home on the Upper Skagit Tribe near Sedro-Woolley with her family at her side at the age of 55 years. She was born March 15, 1949 in Victoria B.C. Canada the daughter of Dennis and Mary Joseph Bill. She was married to Leonard Rodriquez on April 2, 1966 on Bainbridge Island and for the past 18 years she has resided at the family home on the Upper Skagit Tribe. Pearl worked as a counselor of Skagit Mental Health for many years as well as working as a supervisor and host at the Skagit Casino. Pearl was a member of the Indian Shaker Church, Sauk- Suiattle Indian Tribe of Darrington, and for 3 years she served as a council member of the Sauk-Suiattle Tribe. Pearl enjoyed her vacations especially traveling to Oregon and Reno and going to summer pow-wow’s. She will be remembered for helping over 35 people over the years; offering them a place to stay and to get back on their feet. Pearl is survived by her husband Leonard of the family home near Sedro-Woolley. Her children all of Sedro-Woolley Leonard Rodriquez Jr and his wife Lisa Boome, Robert and his wife Corrie Rodriquez, Travis Rodriquez, Tara Rodriquez and her husband Larry Peterson, and Tonya Rodriquez and her husband Sawn Harjo. 7 grandchldren Marcy, Kalika, Joe, Brian, Rochelle, Troy, and Charlotte. Her mother Mary Bill of Darrington. 11 brothers and sisters Gloria Bill George of Darrington, Marilyn Sam and Dennis Bill of Saanichton, BC, Janis Bill and Willard Bill of Darrington, Julie Bill of Bellingham, Andrew Bill, John Bill and Miriam Bill of Darrington, Daniel Moore of California, and Warren Bill of Marysville. Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
Prayer Services will be Monday, April 5, 2004 at 7:00PM and Shaker Services will be Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at 10:00AM at the Upper Skagit Tribal Center Gymnasium with Joe McCoy and Virginia McKensie officiating. Burial will follow at the Hamilton Indian Cemetery. Arrangements and Services under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
