RICHARD WILLIAM BEAR, 71, a longtime Skagit County resident and Pastor went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, September 21, 2004 at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley.
He was born on March 10, 1933 in Lyman, Washington, the son of Frazier Otis Cub & Connie E. Metcalf Bear. He was raised and attended grade school in Lyman, then attended and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1951. Richard received four terms of Bible Training Camp BTC and over the past forty-four years has pastored in Kirkland, Everett, Sedro-Woolley, Salinas, CA, and Vernon, B.C. He helped build a church in Vernon, BC and a Work in Winnipeg, B.C.
Richard was known as a loving husband, father, grampa, friend, and pastor. He lived his calling by touching each and everyone he met and will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Vadell of the family home in Hamilton. His children and their spouses, Cindy and Lynn Francis of Snohomish, Rick and Sue Bear of Centralia, Ben and Susie Bear of Vancouver, WA, Lee and Bev Bear of Gardendale, AL and Tony and Lavonne Bear of Snohomish. Grandchildren, Michelle Vilhauer, Kristen and Ricky Wood, Angela Bear, Leslie and Jay Fleming, L/Cpl Aaron Bear USMC, and Martin and Lexie Bear. One great-grandchild, Jackson Fleming. Also numerous nieces and nephews, and his faithful dog, Eli.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2004 at 11:00AM at Lemley Chapel with Bishop Michael Grant of The Church of God, Anchorage, AK officiating. Interment will follow at the Hamilton Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Hamilton Baptist Church. Arrangements under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-
