Robert A. ‘Tony’ Komar, 51 of Sedro-Woolley, passed away Monday, February 2, 2004 at Skagit Valley Hospital, Mount Vernon. Tony was born May 30, 1952 in Sedro-Woolley, to his parents Robert J. and Dorothy E. Becraft Komar.
Tony attended Burlington High School, and entered the U.S. Army serving in Germany. After serving his time in the U.S. Army, Tony married Joni C. DeMarco, April 16, 1975 in Burlington. He was raised most of his life in Skagit County.
Tony had a love of the outdoors, camping and canoeing; his greatest love was his family. Tony was a Customer Service Representative in the Hardware Department at Wal-Mart in Bellingham, previously was a truck driver and a prison guard. Tony was gentle giant, a big teddy bear and will be missed by all those who knew him.
Tony is survived by his wife, Joni, of 28 years at the family home in Glenhaven. 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Brian DeFries, of Everett and Lisa and Jed O’Bryan, of Bellingham. His mother, Dorothy E. Tony’s family wishes to thank Kunney, a Registered Nurse at Skagit Valley Hospital; Burton Care Center in Burlington; Doctors, Housang Shetabi and Dale Abbott; and his ‘family’ at the Bellingham Wal-Mart.
