Robert Theodore ‘Ted’ Burgess, 94, passed away at his home on March 7, 2019.  He was born on July 29, 1924, at Rowely Hospital, the first hospital in Mount Vernon, Washington.  His parents were Joseph and Frances Burgess.  Ted resided all 94 years in Skagit County, Washington.

On October 19, 1945, he married Sybil Jean Ray of Noxon, Montana.  They were very happily married for 73 precious years.

Ted was a farmer for several years until they sold their Sedro-Woolley farm in 1966 and moved to Burlington, Washington.  He continued working for Darigold until his retired in 1985.

Ted loved to fish, hunt and camp.  In retirement, they went through several RVs traveling the country.  Their favorite adventure was an extended trip to Alaska.  Ted liked the outdoors and nature.

Ted is survived by his wife, Sybil; son, Robert ‘Bob’ and wife Sheila Burgess, of Malaga, WA; daughter, Karen and husband Bob Cooper, of Lewiston, ID; precious grandson, Troy and wife, Kim Burgess of Arlington, WA; granddaughter, Rebecca and husband, Eric Morton, of Marysville, WA; five great-grandchildren, Abigail and Jacob, Hailey, Katie, and Hunter.

Preceding Ted in death were his parents, Joseph and Frances Burgess; three sisters, Jewel Forten, Charolette Jorgenson and Mabel Matson; brother, Joseph Burgess.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Northwest and all their friend and family for their support and prayers.  Ted will be greatly missed.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Pastor Ron Edwards of the Hamilton Baptist Church officiating.
