Robert C. Powers, a former Brewster, WA resident passed away on August 26, 2003 due to an extended illness at the age of 68. Bob was born December 20, 1934 in Portland, OR and was raised in the Spokane, WA area where he graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1952. He joined the U.S. Army in 1953, served in the Korean War as a Communication Specialist.
Bob and his family moved to Brewster in 1966 where he went to work for Dick Bennett at the Brewster Hardware store. Following this, he bagan working construction at the Grand Coulee Dam, Chief Joseph and Bonneville Dam. In 1984 he went to work for CBI as a safety supervisor until he retired in 1996 in Sedro-Woolley, WA.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Deanna Powers of Sedro-Woolley, WA and his 3 daughters Jean and Ray Peif of Concrete, WA and children Sean, Ian, Henry, Hannah and Sadie. Kristie Powers and finance Bob Hardebeck of Superior, MT and children Tyler, Jared and Kaila Smith. Teresa and Ron Davis of Kellog, ID and children Savannah and Tara. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy K. Powers.
At his request no services will be held. Remembrances are suggested to Skagit Valley Hospital Foundation, Cancer Emergency Fund, PO Box 1376, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
