Robert Ray Shuler

Wednesday, August 24th, 2005

Robert Ray Shuler, our loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather was suddenly taken by a car accident on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 near Sedro-Woolley, at the age of 62 years. He was born February 19, 1943 in Andrews, North Carolina, the son of Glenn and Pauline Hardin Shuler.
Bob grew up in Sedro-Woolley attending school and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School with the class of 1961. He was married to Billie Jean Evans in 1962. Bob worked as an upholsterer for Wally Tresner out of high school and continued in that trade while working for Bendix Corporation until 1981 when he suffered a debilitating back injury that forced him to early retirement.
Bob’s biggest joy was his family; he somehow always found a solution for everyone else problems, but his own. He had a warm and a huge heart and he often greeted everyone with a big smile. Bob was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He had a passion for his flower garden. More than anything else, Bob enjoyed watching the local Elk population at dusk, his favorite time of day. Almost every evening you could see him riding around on the back roads of town.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Billie Jean Shuler and his children Bill Shuler, Kerry Shuler, and Kellie Beto, all of Sedro-Woolley. 6 grandchildren Morgan, Maegan, Mikel, Tiffany, Landon, Larissa, and 2 great grandchildren Colby and Christopher. Brother Bill Shuler and his wife Nora of Sedro-Woolley and a sister June Bolam and her husband Bob of Federal Way. He was preceded in death by his father Glenn in 1966 and his mother Pauline in 2004.
Graveside Inurnment Services will be Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Greenhills Cemetery in Burlington with Pastor Leon Meyer of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating with a reception to follow at the Masonic Temple in Sedro-Woolley. Visitation will be Sunday, August 28th from 1:00 PM to 5:00PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
