RUTH ELLINOR ALLISON, 87, a longtime resident of Sedro-Woolley passed away at her home on Monday August 1, 2005.
She was born on March 1, 1918 in Butte, Montana, the daughter of George & Margaret McGregor McDonald.
She was raised and attended school in Butte, MT. She later moved to California where she worked as a L.P.N. for several years.
On October 18, 1960 she was united in marriage to Sidney Allison in Mariposa, California and they made their home in Seattle where Ruth worked as a nurse at Harborview Medical Center. In 1965 they moved to Sedro-Woolley where she continued working as a L.P.N. at United General Hospital and at the Skagit Valley Convalescent Center in Sedro-Woolley. She retired in 1987.
Ruth will always be remembered as a loving Christian woman and who was a longtime member of the Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship Church in Sedro-Woolley. She was also a member of the Sedro-Woolley Senior Center and the Sedro-Woolley Quilting Club. She also volunteer many hours to several charitable organizations and donated over 500 dolls and quilts to them for fund raising events. She was also and avid painter and an accomplished poet
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John & Susan Allison of Sedro-Woolley. 3 grandchildren, Kaylee, Johnny & Kyle Allison all of Sedro-Woolley and 1 great-grandson, Logan Scott. 1 brother, Wallace McDonald of Minneapolis, MN and 2 sisters, Edith McDonald of Santa Monica, CA and Alice Ball and husband Frank of Stanwood, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney in 1982 and a grandson, Clay Allison in 1988.
Memorials are suggested to the Sedro-Woolley Senior Center.
Graveside services will be held at the Greenhills Memorial Cemetery in Burlington on Friday August 5, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Mr. Stan Wing officiating. Visitation available at and services under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
