Sebastiano (Sabby) Paternostro
August 17, 1930 – September 24, 2017
Born in Mount Morris, NY to Cosimina and Biaggio Paternostro, Sabby was the 6th of 8 children.
He graduated in 1949 from Lincoln High School in Los Angeles and entered the Army soon after, serving in the 304th Signal Battalion in Korea until 1952. Soon after his return he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1953.
He worked at Pacific Bell for over 40 years, first as a PBX installer then over 30 years in media services covering major sports and entertainment events all over the Los Angeles area.
He married Sandra on September 12, 1981 and when he retired they moved to Bellingham WA in 1993. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing and telling stories with Italian enthusiasm. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Dominick, Biaggio “Willie”, William and Russel; sister, Louise Orlando. He is survived by his wife Sandra; his daughters, Lesly Jean Lee and Gina Kirby; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and sisters, Irene Giffin and Betty Valdez. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Burlington, WA on Oct 14th, 2017 at 2 pm. Arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro Woolley.
