Stanley Allen Warren, age 82, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at his home at Country Meadows in Sedro-Woolley. He was born July 2, 1922 in Oakville, WA, the son of John and Anna Holms Warren.
Stanley grew up and attended school in Raymond, WA and resided there until 1950, when he moved to Sedro-Woolley residing on Dukes Hill on Highway 9. He served during WWII in the US Navy serving on the US Boxer during the Iwo Jima Invasion. Stanley was married to Lila Ann Kalina Mahaffey on October 10, 1947 in Pacific, WA and she preceded him in death in December of 1996. He worked as a laborer in construction working for Harmon Mendoza Construction Co for many years. Stanley was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #20 69 of Sedro-Woolley, George Baldridge Post #43 American Legion of Sedro-Woolley, a life member of VFW Post #968 of Raymond, Local #901 Laborers International Union of North America, and AARP. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, but most of all traveling.
Stanley is survived by his son Michael Warren of Lynden, a step-daughter Georgia Powers of California, and a step-son Jack Kalina and his wife Cindy of Sweet Home, OR. Grandchildren Kristi Slette and her husband Tore and Lenny Warren of Bellingham and great grandchildren Kailer Slette and Tana Miller of Bellingham. Brother Ray Warren and his wife Margaret Warren of Shelton. Numerous step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Graveside Memorial Services will be held Thursday, July 7, 2005 at 3:00PM at Greenhills Cemetery in Burlington with Pastor Kirby Bertholf of the Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship officiating. Military Honors will be performed by George Baldridge Post #43 American Legion. Memorials are suggested to a Cancer Research Organization of your choice or Cerebral Palsy Association. A reception will follow the services at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles Club at corner of Warner & Metcalf.
