Stanley K. Cichonski

Saturday, November 8th, 2003

Stanley K. Cichonski, a well beloved member of the Sedro-Woolley community, passed away gently and peacefully at home at 4:48 A.M. on November 8, 2003 under the watchful care of Hospice. He was 84 years young.
Stan was born in Sheridan, Wyoming at the break of the 1919 new year. The eldest of seven children, Stan grew up in what was truly known as the ‘Wild West’.
Stanley worked hard all of his life. He was a rancher, a farmer, a ‘true cowboy’, a carpenter, a coal miner, a mechanic, a machinist and a flour mill worker. He supported the WWII effort by staying at home and growing farm crops.
All of his life Stan maintained a close and working relationship with his Father in heaven. He loved God, people, critters of all kinds, traveling around the county with his beloved wife, Helen, and visiting with family and friends. ‘He tried like hell to play the violin!!!’ an impassioned quote from Stan’s beloved Aunt Dorothy. He loved music of all kinds; square and ballroom dancing and being an active part of his community. He was also a very, masterful gardener. His greatest delight was to see people happy.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents Constantine and Martha Cichonski, his beloved wives Myra and Helen and his brothers Henry, John, and Andrew who was killed on the very last day of WWII.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Ida Cichonski of Sheridan, and their 4 children Jack, Marcie, Janice, Delores, 2 grandchildren Kristin, Amada, 3 great-grandchildren Tobias, Beth, and Alexander. His sister, Mary Marion Gordon of Seattle and her 2 children, Denise and Brandon. Grandchildren Gary, Heather, Christine, Linda, and great-grandchild Calum. His sister, Rose Jean Sherman of AZ and her 2 children, Lance and Debra, 3 grandchildren, John, Burton and Talia and great-grandchild Gavin. His beloved Aunt Dorothy Ruzila and her son and daughter Harold and Fairy Ann. 4 step-children Clyde & Adella, Bonnie & Gregory, Christopher & Heather and Michael & Angel.
